Sports franchises will be able to receive millions of dollars in tax rebates from the state under a bill headed to Gov. Rick Scott’s desk.
The House agreed to Senate amendments to HB 7095 Friday, sending the bill to the Governor. The bill allows professional basketball, football, hockey, baseball and soccer franchises, as well as motorsports complexes and Breeder’s Cup horseracing venues making upgrades to their stadiums to compete for annual sales tax rebates of up to $3 million per year for 30 years.
