The House and Senate agreed Tuesday to fund affordable housing programs at $167.7 million next fiscal year, the most funding for the programs since before the onset of the Great Recession.
The Transportation and Economic Development Budget Conference settled on the figure after the Senate came down from its original position of $226.2 million, the total projected amount of the affordable housing trust fund. The original House position was $89.3 million, the same as Gov. Rick Scott’s budget recommendation.
