The final Senate environmental committee meeting of the 2014 legislative session included symbolic debate over plastic grocery bags and withdrawn amendment to force Alachua County to work on upgrading septic tanks along the Santa Fe River.
And a bill that would increase regulation of private water and wastewater utilities passed the Senate Committee on Environmental Preservation and Conservation with new support from a utility association.
