Democratic lawmakers aren’t convinced a state agency could handle the administration of a proposed program that would offer scholarships to students with disabilities.
On Friday, Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Cutler Bay, said he did not think the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities had the expertise to properly run an $18.4 million scholarship program that would offer money for students in public, private or home schools that could be used for continuing education, supplies, tutoring or therapy.
