A bill that would expand drug prescription formulas used in plans under State Managed Medical Assistance contracts will make its final committee stop on Tuesday amid staunch opposition from the business industry.
The Senate Health Policy Committee voted unanimously in favor of SB 1354 by Sen. Denise Grimsley, R-Sebring during a March 25 meeting. The bill would augment a schedule known as either step or fail safe therapy, which required patients to try a cheaper drug before moving to a more expensive version.
