State lawmakers have passed much of the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s agenda in recent years, but there are a few items on the business lobby’s wish list that have not quite made it into law.
Chamber officials released their legislative agenda Tuesday, seeking to push for legislation that lawmakers have thus far been unable to pass. Bills designed to reduce damage awards in lawsuits, reduce the coverage of the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund, moving to a defined contribution state pension system and to collect sales taxes on online purchases have all been thwarted in recent years, and all are on the Chamber’s agenda this year.
