After failing to come to an agreement earlier this year on how to consolidate the information technology functions of state agencies, lawmakers from the House and Senate said they want to find common ground this year.
The Senate plan would have created a more robust IT agency with eventual control over procurement, while the House plan would have created an IT agency with mere advisory powers. The two chambers never reached an agreement, even though the issue was part of budget conference talks.
