Last updated Feb. 5, 2015: House District 54 covers part of a Indian River County along Florida’s east coast and a small portion of St. Lucie county on its southern edge. District 54 is the home of roughly 49,000 Republicans and 32,000 Democrats, giving the GOP a significant voter registration advantage. The district is also 80 percent white, with a median age of 49 years -- slightly older than many other areas in Florida.
