The budgeting process continued late Tuesday as House and Senate budget conferees reconvened at 10:30 p.m. to take up a series of conforming bills, including language intended to speed the teacher pay raise. The wording allows counties to negotiate with unions and implement the raises in the budget prior to June 2014 -- the date stated in the budget (SB 1500).
