Florida's consumer confidence dodged an expected drop in January when negotiations in Washington averted the "fiscal cliff," according to the University of Florida’s Survey Research Center in the Bureau of Economic and Business Research. In its monthly survey, researchers found that the consumer confidence rate dropped one point to 75, down from a revised reading of 76 in December.
